The 17 parishes of the southern part of the Blackmore Vale Deanery seek to promote the Mission of the Church by working together in all areas where collaboration may be more effective than working on our own. They remain committed to our responsibilities within the Deanery and the wider Church. The parishes are: Belchalwell, Child Okeford, Fifehead Neville, Hammoon, Hazelbury Bryan with Stoke Wake, Hinton St Mary, Ibberton, Lydlinch, Manston, Mappowder, Marnhull, Okeford Fitzpaine, Shillingstone, Stalbridge, Stock, Sturminster Newton, and Woolland.
Training workshops are arranged on a variety of topics and take place at different venues across the parishes. Representatives from the parishes meet three times a year to plan the programme, to explore possibilities for shared worship, and to develop future joint projects. For June 2004, a pilgrimage/mission is being planned. The clergy meet weekly for prayer, lunch and fellowship – time much valued by the participants.
